On behalf of a prestigious private bank based in Geneva we are looking to hire a:

SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL / LEGAL COUNSEL

Your responsibilities:

• The Legal Counsel will provide legal support and advice, such as:
  • Provision of legal support for banking, investment and fiduciary products and documentation
  • Legal support on credit projects and issues involving high net worth customers, including margin loans, credit facilities and other financial products with emphasis on developing and maintaining forms, procedures and processes as well as providing advice and support on individual transactions
  • Position will involve interaction with the Front Office, the credit department as well as the outside counsels
  • Support on projects affecting the entire wealth management area of the Bank, including formulating and implementing policies on cross-border legal and regulatory issues, standardisation of documentation for all products and services
  • Management of, and liaison with, external lawyers in Switzerland and abroad
  • Support for business and compliance functions in relation to litigation and disputes

Your profile:

• Previous experience within the financial sector, either for Swiss leading banks or foreign banks located in Switzerland in the private banking field or for a leading Swiss law firm active in the financial and banking field
• Swiss-qualified lawyer
• Fluent in written and spoken English and French
• Ideally good knowledge of German, Italian or any other major European language(s)
• He or she should be organised, motivated and responsible; the candidate must have also excellent interpersonal skills and a strong communicative ability
• The candidate needs also a high level of commercial awareness, as well as an excellent problem-solving skill and sound judgment
• A capacity to implement business solutions which balance local needs with Group requirements is also required
